This charming island is definitely a neat place to visit. The wild horses are beautiful to see by the roadside. The beach offers shallow waters to wade out and play with the kids. We saw several families digging for clams. Our problem was that because of the marshland, the mosquitoes were unbearable during our visit. If you get right on the beach you get some relief but the the campsites are have a lot of shrubs and trees so the bugs are the worst there. Some of them are small enough to come in through your screens. The toilets are open pit out-house style. The showers are cold water only. No hook ups. Perhaps there are other months to visit where the bugs aren't as bad. We were miserable. It was warm and humid even after dark and no generators are allowed after 10pm. I wish we had just gone for a day visit.
