We loved the quaintness of this park. The facilities and office staff were very nice. This is an older park, built for the winter snowbirds that came to fish. There are very few sites long enough or angled correctly for large RVs. We were 42 ft and found 2-3 FHU sites that could accommodate us. Would we go back, Yes! Do we recommend it, Yes!

You get an immediate feeling of welcome at this resort. Some credit for that goes to the owners, management and staff; however, the overwhelming reason for the "warm and fuzzy" feeling is the guests and volunteers. Within minutes of arriving, neighbors came to welcome us and offer assistance, directions and invitations. Managers and some of the paid staff displayed some "attitude". Depending on who was behind the desk, you may feel like you were interfering with the "more important" things they were doing. Some were more concerned with where a visitor parked before they would take care of their needs. During our stay, the managers were fired & some staff said they would not be back next year. They won't be missed! According to the long term guests, this is a recurring event. The park is a lovely, partially wooded facility with many amenities. Maintenance is more than outstanding. Showers, laundry, pool, and grounds are immaculate. Price was quite reasonable, but be prepared to pay in advance, at check-in, for the entire stay. This can be a big chunk of cash if you're staying for 3 or 4 months. Extra charges: Storage for cargo/boat trailers (parked in far end of park) - deposit for mailbox key $10.00 - guests $5.00 each for overnight & $3.00 to swim. There are so many on and off-site activities, you can't get to them all. Golf, bowling, bingo, horseshoes, shuffleboard, bonfires, ice cream socials, parties, shows, happy hours and more. Most of these are a product of the volunteers. Set in a rural area, it is very close to urban shopping, movies, sports, restaurants, bars, beaches and entertainment of Bradenton and Tampa/St. Pete. In spite of some management issues, we will return and would highly recommend this park to others.
