At our KOA, enjoy RV and tent sites set in an open, rolling landscape. Gravel pull through sites and grass back in sites available. Relax by our refreshing pool (Memorial Day to Labor Day) or cast a line for bluegill, bass and channel catfish in the campground's fishing pond. You can hike a nature trail, pitch horseshoes and play Ping-Pong in the game room. Be sure to stop in our store and pick up some locally made Maytag Blue cheese and locally made Tassel Ridge wine. We also stock the 'necessities' that you need or may have forgotten. We also have fresh made smoked sausages and 100% beef hot dogs along with fresh baked pizza that we will personally deliver to your campsite!

Holiday weekends we plan fun activities for our guests, be sure to check out our activities! Pancake breakfasts start out Saturday mornings at Newton KOA and the evening includes an Ice Cream Social. Meet us at the community patio area!

Visit Pella, IA for their annual Tulip Festival that bursts with colorful blossoms and delicious Dutch treats. You're also within a 30 minute drive to the state capital of Des Moines and attractions such as Adventureland Amusement Park, Botanical Gardens, Blank Park Zoo, and Prairie Meadows Casino in Altoona and much more! Located only 30 miles east of Des Moines, out of city traffic but close enough for day trips! Iowa Speedway is located 2 miles from our campground, with races only one weekend a month, it is also a fun place to tour.

Follow the Lewis and Clark Trail to the Onawa Blue Lake KOA in the heart of the Loess Hills, formations created thousands of years ago when retreating glaciers left behind fine silt particles called loess (pronounced "luss"). View the topography on the Loess Hills National Scenic Byway. Relax at the quiet, rural campground with shade trees and open grassy areas. Enjoy sunsets over the lake as well as the pool, paddleboats, fun-cycles and Wi-Fi. Head to 250-acre Blue Lake to fish. Every June, the area hosts a Lewis & Clark Festival with a keelboat display, quilt show and reenactments, plus Graffiti Nights Cruise and Car Show. Watch fireworks on July 4th. In nearby Sioux City, visit the Lewis & Clark Interpretive Center and the Sioux City Art Center. Spend a day at Henry Doorly Zoo in Omaha, just an hour away.
