32 CampedThere Reviews

HARRISVILLE, PA (February xx, 2014) – Denny, Kathy, and Gary Quigley, owners of Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park at Kozy Rest Camp-Resort in Harrisville, have been recognized with the Entrepreneur Award by the Jellystone Park franchise system. The Entrepreneur of the Year award recognizes Camp-Resorts that show a strong growth in business over the prior year. The award was presented at the annual meeting of the Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park Camp-Resort group in Cincinnati.

Nestled in the beautiful countryside of Western Pennsylvania, the family-oriented resort offers shaded, level, generously-sized, full-hookup RV campsites; tent and pop-up campsites; and 12 cabin and yurt rental units, including a pet-friendly Kozy Kabin. Guests will also find the Kozy Club Arena, a special group camping area with 23 campsites clustered around a picnic pavilion and recreation hall – perfect for family reunions, church outings and group gatherings. The pet-friendly resort offers a dog park; two-legged guests will enjoy gem mining, a pool and playground, miniature golf, a game room, hiking trails, pedal cart rentals and more.

“We were extremely honored to receive this prestigious award,” said Denny Quigley. “We realize we could never accomplish everything we do without our incredible staff, and it’s always nice when everyone’s hard work is recognized so prominently.”

“In the past year, we renovated and doubled the size of the park’s office and store, and also added four new full-service luxury cabins, including one for guests with disabilities,” said Gary Quigley. The park celebrates the opening of the 2014 camping season with an Opening Weekend event set for April 18-20; guests will enjoy free coffee and doughnuts, kids’ Easter crafts and Easter Egg Hunt, and free miniature golf. From there, the themed family-friendly weekends Jellystone Parks are famous for will be in full swing, with special events every weekend through the end of October. Tami Quigley said, “our highlights include Pets-R-Family Weekend (May 2-4), with pet beauty contests, parade and even a pet talent show; and Tropical Beach Weekend (June 27-29), when guests will take a virtual trip to the islands with sand volleyball, Hawaiian luau and poolside music.” A full schedule can be found on the campground’s website.

HARRISVILLE, Penn., January 2015 — For the second time in four years, Jellystone Park at Kozy Rest has won the coveted “Park of the Year” award from the National Association of RV Parks and Campgrounds.
The award, which Denny Quigley and his son, Gary, received during a national awards ceremony at the Rio All Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, was issued in recognition of their park’s exceptionally high levels of customer service; employee training, operational excellence; national directory ratings; and community service. They also received the award in 2011.
The Quigleys were also recognized at the Yogi Bear Symposium in Cincinnati in November with eight awards, the highest being “Facility of the Year.”
One of the newer additions to the Yogi Bear Jellystone Park chain, Kozy Rest is a popular camping destination with organized family activities, weekend entertainment as well as 10 cabins and 2 yurt rentals.
Frequent guests and employees of the park said they were not surprised to hear the park received national recognition.
“It’s more than exceptional,” said Matt Neff of Butler, Penn. “They do such a great job of catering to families. I have a four-year-old and we go there every weekend during the summer.”
Neff added that the Quigleys solicit guest input on ideas for park improvements, and they follow through by consistently reinvesting in the park to provide the kinds of amenities and facilities guests want.
John Thornton of Venetia, Penn., said he and his family travel extensively, but spend half of their time at Jellyston
